    Christine Chow

    Global Tech Lead and Head of Asia and Global Emerging Markets,

    EOS at Federated Hermes International

    Dr Christine Chow is head of engagement in Asia and global emerging markets of EOS, Federated Hermes. She has 24 years’ experience working in the investment management industry, research and consulting. Christine's PhD thesis on shareholder engagement for responsible investment was short-listed for a UN award in Sweden for industry relevance and academic excellence. Christine is an elected member of the Court of governors at the London School of Economics (LSE) and a member of the School’s Investment Sub-Committee. She is a member of the Data Governance Task Force of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence and a board member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). In September 2019, she was named as one of Brummell Magazine’s Inspirational Women in the City of London.


    Christine has gained valuable experience in asset allocation strategy as a member of the LSE investment committee, and contributed to the implementation of the responsible investment strategy. In addition, she brings gender and ethnic diversity to boards and executive management teams. She seeks a balance of professional and personal development, with a recognised contribution to society. Driven by results, her aim is to lead an engaged and dedicated team where team members work together to explore and build new businesses.


    Kanji Tanimoto

    Professor, School of Commerce, Waseda University

    Kanji is a professor of Waseda University with over 20 years of experience in corporate social responsibility. Kanji’s key research interests include the relationship between business and society, corporate social responsibility, social business and social innovation. Kanji is also the Founder and President of Japan Forum of Business and Society.

    Yan Xu

    Corporate Advisor, Asia, ISS Corporate Solutions

    Yan joined the ISS Corporate Solutions in 2019, having previously operated as an ISS proxy research analyst responsible for making proxy voting recommendations to shareholders.


    Yan holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Manchester, with a research focus on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and mergers and acquisitions.


    In leveraging Yan’s extensive expertise, his exposure to the evolving ESG preferences of global investors, and his understanding of how investors perceive non-financial risk, his addition to the ICS team makes him the perfect asset for ICS and its clients.

    Chitra Hepburn

    Executive Director and Head of ESG, APAC, MSCI

    As the Head of ESG in APAC, Chitra Hepburn is responsible for MSCI’s ESG commercial activities in the Asia Pacific region. Chitra joined MSCI in July 2019 and is based in Singapore. Chitra most recently was a Managing Director at ESG Global, a role she held since February 2017, where she was responsible for working with issuers to create and implement their ESG metrics in preparation for investor roadshows.


    Prior to this, Chitra was Greater China Head of Sustainability, Corporate Communications and CSR for Bayer, across the three divisions of Pharmaceuticals, Crop Science and Consumer Care. Earlier in her career she held roles at WestLB, Deutsche Bank and Adelphi Capital Partners. She also holds an MSc in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics.

    Chris Cattermole

    ESG Advisory and Solutions Global Lead, UL

    Chris Cattermole is the ESG Advisory and Solutions Global Lead at UL. UL is a 125 year old company supporting other companies and governments to improve their sustainability, safety and security through software, standards, testing, verification and certification.


    Chris sits within UL's Environment and Sustainability business and his mission is to enable companies of all sizes to collect, analyse and report on investment grade ESG data and to enable investors to use the same data for portfolio decision making.


    In this role he works across the ESG landscape with companies, investors, ESG standards and ESG research agencies. His current focuses include climate change related risk, scope 3 emissions including financed emissions and the concrete steps clients can take to address these issues from the strategic to the asset level, applying UL's extensive understanding of science and engineering.


    He also works with UL's business units to connect the dots on ESG across UL's deep experience in product and supply chain sustainability for corporate level reporting.


    Previously he worked for Accenture and KPMG across the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. In these roles he supported large companies in the EU and Asia to understand their material ESG topics, embed ESG into business strategy & operations, and demonstrate the value of ESG initiatives to investors.
